Description
Anastrozole is a powerful anti-estrogen with a fast effect. In bodybuilding, it is used to reduce the risks of heavy courses. Taking the pills helps prevent estrogenic side effects due to steroids, including excessive water retention in muscles and gynecomastia in men.
It is an antitumor drug approved for human use. By pharmacological action, anastrozole (anastrozole) provides an aromatase inhibitor of the last, third generation. He has analogs in the type of effect, but few, for example, letrozole and vorozol, – also aromatase inhibitors of the 3rd generation.
The mechanism of action of anastrozole is due to the inhibition of aromatization, that is, the conversion of androgens to estrogens is reduced. As a result, it restores the synthesis, level and activity of estrogens to an acceptable level. According to reviews, already after a single intake there is a decrease in the synthesis of estradiol up to 50% (and more) of the initial indicators.
It is important to understand that anti-estrogens such as aromatase inhibitors do not directly affect the production of gonadotropic hormones and testosterone production. This is their main difference from estrogen receptor blockers (see tamoxifen or clomiphene citrate).
