Description
Anastrozole is an “anti-aromatase” tablet drug used by many bodybuilders to prevent gynecomastia and edema – side effects associated with the use of testosterone esters.
A selective non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor. It has antitumor activity against estrogen-dependent breast tumors in postmenopausal women. Reduces the content of circulating estradiol. Does not have progestogenic, androgenic or estrogenic activity, does not affect the secretion of endogenous GCS and MCS.
There are some problems with the use of an aromatase inhibitor. While this effectively reduces estrogenic side effects, it also blocks the beneficial properties of estrogen (namely, its effect on cholesterol value). Studies have clearly shown that when an aromatase inhibitor is used in conjunction with a steroid like Testosterone, the suppression of HDL (good) cholesterol becomes much more pronounced. Estrogen obviously plays a role in reducing the negative effects of steroid use. Since the estrogen receptor antagonist Nolvadex shows no anti-estrogenic effect on cholesterol value, this is a sure thing for those interested in cardiovascular health.
