Description
Anastrozole onkovis 1 mg film-coated tablets contain an active substance called ana strozole. This belongs to a group of
group of medicines called “aromatase inhibitors”. Anastrozole is used to treat breast cancer in women after menopause.

Anastrozole works by lowering the amount of the hormone estrogen produced by your body. This is done
by inhibiting a natural substance (an enzyme) in your body called “aromatase”.
Anastrozole onkovis must not be taken,
– if you are allergic to anastrozole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
of this medicine,
– if you are pregnant or breastfeeding (see section “Pregnancy and breastfeeding”).
Do not take anastrozole onkovis if any of the above applies to you. If you are unsure

take,
– if you are still menstruating and your menopause is not over yet,
– if you are taking a medicine that contains tamoxifen or a medicine that contains estrogen
– if you have ever had a condition that affects the strength of your bones (osteoporosis),
– if you have liver or kidney dysfunction.
